Description of business unit

The Real Estate Advisory Unit was established to develop the property expertise and capability within the Group. The team of Chartered Surveyors provide specialist property advice to support the Groups lending activity and fulfils a range of functions including Property Valuations, Asset Management, Property Advice & Appraisal, Market Monitoring, Policy Guidance, Regulation & Training.

The Valuation Team, within the Real Estate Advisory Unit, is responsible for carrying out a programme of internal asset valuations across a broad selection of property assets within the Bank's portfolio. Due to an increased requirement for these services, a number of vacancies have arisen within the valuation team.

Purpose of the Role

These roles will join the team of Surveyors and will prepare valuations and reports on a wide range of properties in response to regulatory and risk management requirements.

Key Accountabilities

The roles are at various levels of seniority and depending on level of experience, the remit will include:

  • Undertake independently or assist with completion of valuations to the highest professional standard
  • Contribute to the periodic review of Team processes and procedures
  • Contribute to shared knowledge within the team and the wider Group
  • Interaction and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal presentations in respect of the real estate market

Essential Qualifications

  • BSc(Surv) Degree in Property Economics or equivalent qualification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Property market industry knowledge
  • Strong IT and presentation skills
  • Competent knowledge and understanding of development and commercial investment property valuation and appraisal techniques
  • Working knowledge of Argus Valuation Capitalisation
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a range of tasks with competing deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude to achieve a common goal
