Description of Business Unit:

The Technology Security Operations (TSO) at Bank of Ireland have a remit of discovering, assessing and reporting of any potential vulnerabilities or potential threat toward Bank of Ireland.

This team currently has the following work stream:

  • Vulnerability Identification, Assessment and Communication
  • Security Monitoring of BOI Systems & Services
  • Security Incident Response for BOI Systems and Services
  • Cyber-Threat Intelligence Collation, Analysis & Distribution
  • Vulnerability Identification, Assessment and Communication
  • Engineering & Technical Support for Selected Security Controls

Purpose of the Role:

The vulnerability analyst role will report directly to the TSO Vulnerability Lead, will interact with all the members of the existing TSO teams and other relevant teams, and will be responsible for providing vulnerability assessment tasks as defined by the TSO Vulnerability Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vulnerability assessments scans on internal / external infrastructure and applications using variety of specialist tooling in an agreed format and timeframe.
  • Identify critical vulnerabilities within the network information systems and applications that could be exploited.
  • Analyse vulnerability scan results, prioritize and report on vulnerabilities found.
  • Validate report findings to reduce false positives
  • Work with internal customers and service providers to resolve or facilitate the resolution of technical and security problems and challenges.
  • Participate in the operation and remediation of technical services as required, including Process Design/Optimisation, Documentation and Training.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Fetac Level 7 Ordinary degree in IT security or equivalent additional experience.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years in IT/ Security operations
  • Firm understanding of IT security principles and practices.
  • Good technical knowledge of IT Systems and Controls,
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certifications: CISSP
  • Experience with common network vulne
