Bank of Ireland Wealth Advice and Distribution is part of the Bank of Ireland Group and a leading provider of easy-to-understand life assurance, pension, savings and investments products. Providing a range of investment styles, from active to passive investing, across asset classes, countries and sectors, Wealth Distribution delivers an optimal customer proposition for Bank of Ireland customers.

Purpose of the role

Wealth Managers are tasked with building enduring and meaningful business & personal relationships with customers. They provide in-depth financial plans to customers, enabling them to reach their financial goals.

These are permanent roles, based in multi locations across Ireland.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop key relationships and the ability to develop and maintain a very strong collaboration with Bank management and key staff.
  • Deliver stretching sales targets from new and existing customers in a compliant manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to explain financial planning concepts in a manner which clients understand and be able to differentiate Bank of Ireland Wealth and its services in a positive, compelling manner.
  • Maximise cross-selling opportunities with existing clients.
  • Ensure all business is converted and fully complies with both internal and external regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Agree and put in place a client specific financial plan for all new and existing customers.
  • Work collaboratively with the Planning team to ensure all financial plans are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
  • Behave ethically and honestly in all work and business dealings and take personal ownership of decisions, actions and results.

Essential Qualifications

  • QFA.
  • 3rd level / professional qualification e.g Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a target driven, sales focused environment in the financial services sector.
  • Track record in life, investment and pension sales both personal and company.
  • Full clean driver's license.

Essential skills and experience

  • Ability to utilise a wide range of business referral sources and proactively lead and respond to referrals.
  • Self-starter, demonstrating proactivity, efficient administration, time management, organisation and compliance skills.
  • Very strong active listening and questioning techniques.
  • The ability to read people and to adapt a particular style.
  • Deals effectively with clients' needs and clearly links them to clients financial goals and objectives and recognises the appropriate solution to each client's situation by displaying the utmost integrity at all times.
  • The ability to demonstrate core financial planning concepts in a clear and concise manner and in a way clients clearly understand.
  • Deals effectively with objections.
  • Has the ability to use different closing techniques in different situations.
  • Clearly demonstrates industry knowledge and constantly strives to improve on personal and technical knowledge and is well informed on current economic and complex product questions.

  • Competitive nature. Proven track record of delivering sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills and excellent commercial acumen.
  • A demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships at the highest levels.
  • Strong presentation skills incorporating various financial, economic and market topics.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills required to undertake complex and comprehensive financial planning.
