Applications for our 2024 Graduate Programmes open on September 4th and can be accessed via our website: https://careers.bankofireland.com/graduates. Applications will close on November 12th, so make sure to get your application in on time!

Yes, we are offering a UK-based Graduate Programme again this year. Click here to apply to our UK programme. While completing the application form, you will be prompted to select your first and second preferences as it relates to areas of interest. Applicants should apply before November 12th.

All 2024 programme streams will start at the beginning of September 2024.

The majority of our programme streams are offered across 2 years, comprising 3 x 8 month rotations to different business areas. Our Accounting and Finance stream is delivered over 3 years.

Our Graduate Programme is a happy destination for colleagues with a wide variety of backgrounds. We do not specify what discipline you must have studied, but you will have either graduated, or expect to achieve an undergraduate degree, or Master’s degree of any kind.

Successful candidates will complete the following steps: application, online assessments, assessment centres, and offer.

Application: Our application form, which you will find on our Graduate website, is easy to use, and takes minutes to complete. We do request that you submit a CV along with this form, and all information requested is to be able to assess suitability for our wide range of programme streams.

If you have difficulty in completing the application form, or require an alternate method of applying, then please do let our team know and we will endeavour to accommodate your requirements.

Assessment: Our online assessments give us an understanding of verbal and numerical reasoning, as well as assessments based on our company values. All instructions will be shared with you by email, including the link to access, your password, and directions to do a practice run through prior to the assessment kicking off.

When doing the assessments, we would advise that you find a quiet space where you won’t be disrupted, have a stable internet connection, and have a charged battery on your device.

Assessment Centre: The final stage in our recruitment process is the Assessment Centre. This is a Group event, where candidates take part in group activities and interviews, with managers from Bank of Ireland, People Services & Recruitment colleagues leading events for the session.

Offer: When you receive your offer, it will be communicated to you which programme stream you are being offered. At the point of application, you have an opportunity to select preferences for business areas, however suitability will be assessed throughout the process and an appropriate alternate programme may be offered to you.

We have a hybrid working model, with home, agile hub and office based options available. Varying degrees of optionality apply depending on the programme stream, and will be agreed with you prior to your start.

Yes. At times, roles may re-open after the November 12th closing date for applications has passed, so we encourage you to reapply should the opportunity become available.

You only need to make one application for the 2024 Graduate Programme. When making your application, you will be able to select your top areas of interest to be considered when reviewing your application against available Grad Programme streams

Successful candidates will receive a formal offer from a Bank of Ireland representative at the end of the application process and ahead of the 2024 Graduate Programme launch.

At this time, it is required that candidates are eligible for work in the Republic of Ireland or UK for the duration of the programme. Unfortunately, Bank of Ireland is not able to sponsor work VISAS or permits for our Graduate Programme
