Why I chose Bank of Ireland

Professional and personal development is massively encouraged on the programme. For my actuarial exams, I was offered an attractive study scheme which rewards its students for exam progression through salary increases and exam bonuses.

Kate Tarpey

Actuary

Being able to be flexible in both the way I work, and in how I work has allowed me to become more focused on both colleague-to-colleague engagement and value-adding work contributions to my team.

Thomas Robertson

Accounting & Finance

The best part of the Graduate Programme is there is independence and the power to choose which tasks I would like to be a part of and how I structure my day. There are a number of supports that are in place for further learning, growth and internal movement.

Altogether, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to take on early leadership roles within Bank of Ireland. Some of the highlights of Graduate Programme development include off-site team building activities, courses in Project Management and agile design thinking, and LGBTQ+ Ally training.

There's more to life than work

Bank of Ireland's purpose is to enable our customers, colleagues and communities to thrive. At the heart of this purpose is our commitment to Inclusion & Diversity: To foster an inclusive working environment where all colleagues are enabled to reach their full potential. This potential is seen in not only career development for all colleagues, but also support for personal wellbeing. In order to drive our progress in Inclusion and Diversity, communities of colleagues have organised six Employee Support Networks to promote inclusion, diversity and representation of the interests of specific communities.

You get a lot. You give a lot too.

Our colleagues have always been keen to support their favourite charities and good causes, through local initiatives or large-scale events.

Our charity and community investment programme, Give Together, supports colleagues who wish to fundraise or volunteer for important causes in their lives. They can avail of one day’s paid leave each year to volunteer and can also apply to have any fundraising matched up to certain limits.

Bank of Ireland colleagues volunteer over 1,000 days annually, and generate millions of euro in matched fundraising, payroll giving and other charitable contributions.
