What is the opportunity

We are seeking an Analyst/Associate to join the Paris based Portfolio Management team to assist other team members to manage a c. 40 clients portfolio. You will assume responsibility for the day-to-day credit management of a number of leveraged finance transactions.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensuring the highest standards of credit management and monitoring of a portfolio of leveraged deals (across a variety of sectors / geographies and capital structures).
  • Timely completion of credit papers and credit reviews through the in-depth assessment of financial and non-financial information, ensuring a thorough and critical analysis of the relevant transaction.
  • Development and maintenance of good working relationships both internally (including Credit, other Corporate banking teams and the wider BOI Group) and externally (clients, syndicate banks, private equity sponsors and financials / legal advisers).
  • Attendance at syndicate and bilateral, lender/client meetings (includes some overseas travel) alongside more senior team members.
  • Assisting with the proactive identification and harnessing of business development opportunities within the existing portfolio including new financing opportunities for existing deals and treasury business.
  • Adherence to relevant internal / external compliance and regulatory controls.
  • Involvement in specific initiatives and projects as and when required.

What will make you stand out?

  • An understanding of credit assessment, financial analysis and credit writing, with the ability to quickly identify key issues and risks.
  • Good problem solving ability, a pragmatic approach and a good commercial awareness.
  • Energy, drive and initiative to handle a full workload to tight and contending timelines.
  • Capacity to build alliances and relationships with other lenders, management teams and equity sponsors & advisors.
  • Strong teammate with the capability to both work independently and as part of a team and willing to contribute and empower team initiatives / projects.
  • Ability to write credit papers and credit reviews in English.
  • Good communication skills both in French and English along with excellent written & verbal communication skills.

While not crucial to apply the following would be a strong bonus!

  • Lending experience in Corporate / Business Banking (internship or first job experience) with recommended first experience of LBO market (PE Fund, Debt Fund, Bank)
  • Working knowledge of French legal / loan documentation, financial modelling skills, desirable but not essential
