The main responsibility of the role is to determine the overall vision of products, managing various backlog items and deciding which features each product will have according to clients and internal stakeholder preferences. This opportunity will see the Product Owner take control of the roadmaps for our digital platforms and bring Product Management capability and frameworks to the team.

Please note, this role is required for a duration of 12-18 months to cover maternity leave

In this role, you will;

  • Collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Define the vision for the team's product and create a product road map based on this vision.
  • Manage the product backlog and prioritise them based on changing requirements.
  • Coordinate all stages of product creation including design and development.
  • Developing user stories and agreeing acceptance criteria.
  • Supervising and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
  • Collaborating closely with the product team and end-users to deliver updates alongside participating in scrum meetings and product sprints.

What will make you stand out?

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience as product owner on digital customer facing platforms with in-depth knowledge of scrum and agile software development methodology. A solid grasp of product development architecture with excellent proficiency in the use of analytic tools.

You will have excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles, an understanding of design quality standards and the ability to work with large teams.

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role;

  • Computer Science degree, Computer Engineering or other related fields.
  • SAFe Certification would be beneficial
  • Exposure to behavioural economics, heuristics and FinTech would be a plus

  • Professional Scrum Product Owner II or III (PSPO)

More about the team

The position is positioned within the I.T group in the Wealth and Insurance business unit. The team comprises a dynamic and dedicated mix of I.T professionals across the entire software delivery lifecycle. The role will have a significant impact in managing our product vision, roadmap and backlogs across our primary customer facing digital applications.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration -exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
