Ways of Working

At Bank of Ireland we are changing.  We are committed to enabling our colleagues to thrive and offer agile ways of working to maximise choice and flexibility in how we work and live. Varying degrees of optionality apply depending on the role.

Inclusion & Diversity

At the heart of our purpose is our commitment to Inclusion & Diversity: To foster an inclusive working environment where all colleagues are enabled to reach their full potential. We are working to develop a more inclusive and diverse environment, supported by the development of our Employee Support Networks.

Bank of Ireland is the sum of many parts, working together to deliver on our collective strategy.

From business areas involved in the design and sales of our products, serving our customers excellently, or trading on international markets, all parts of the Bank work as one group, one team. Our customer facing and revenue generating teams are supported by colleagues in Operations, Legal, Marketing, Human Resources and many more.

We have a wide range of opportunities for Graduates who are interested in developing their career in a large organisation where the ambition is National Champion status.

When applying, you will have the opportunity to express your key areas of interest.

The Programme

Each programme stream offers a rotational experience across different areas in the Bank. Each rotation is specifically developed to enable Graduates to develop the critical skills that will accelerate your development and growth.

During your three rotations, you will build strong management, interpersonal and technical skills, as well as getting exposure to business critical projects in a fast paced environment.

You are empowered throughout to seek new experiences and expand your network through cross collaboration. You will have the opportunity to experience different areas of the business, or to contribute to meaningful transformation projects that support our Group strategy.

The Opportunity

As part of the programme you will gain exposure to colleagues across numerous business areas allowing you to build a substantial network across the Bank.

Through our unique Digital Academy, you will also be able to explore opportunities and future career paths, as well as receiving top-class mentoring through the Bank of Ireland Mentorship Programme.

Members of the Graduate Programme have strong visibility in Bank of Ireland with regular touchpoints with Leadership, including the CEO and Executive Committee.

Our Graduate Programme is often a feeder into one of Bank of Ireland`s talent programmes which are crafted to accelerate the growth of identified high-performing individuals.

What you will get in return

You will embark on a bespoke Graduate Development Programme. Our Graduate Development Programme is a blend of virtual and classroom training, facilitating connections with peers, the organisation, and its culture. Over the program's duration, you'll develop essential skills ranging from relationship management, business promotion techniques, presentation skills and financial well-being.

At Bank of Ireland, we are committed to providing you with significant flexibility to help you to thrive. Key to this is our hybrid working model. We have administrative buildings, remote working hubs, and work from home options that are centered on enabling and empowering you to work in a way that is more flexible and productive for you.

To ensure we work effectively as part of our teams and the wider organisation, the approach will vary given the nature of the role, your individual preference, and your team’s agreed ways of working.
