This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in one of Bank of Ireland UKs key strategic programmes. As Lead Senior Financial Crime SME, you will help shape and deliver the financial crime strategy, technology, and operational capability that protects our customers and supports the bank's growth ambitions.
Working closely with colleagues across the programme, business areas, Group functions, and external partners, you will help ensure effective financial crime controls are embedded from design through to delivery. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic change while helping the bank stay prepared for existing and emerging fraud threats.
Please note this is a 12 month FTC position, and the successful candidate can be based in Belfast or London.
You will bring extensive experience in fraud risk management and fraud operations within financial services, covering both consumer and business products. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery.
You enjoy solving complex problems, using data and insight to support sound decision-making. Strong communication and relationship-building skills will help you influence stakeholders at all levels and work effectively across diverse teams.

The Financial Crime Risk & Operations Centre of Excellence sits within the UK Operations division of Retail UK and forms part of the first line of defence. The team supports the management of financial crime risks across fraud, anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, and gifts and hospitality.
Through guidance, oversight, project support, and specialist investigations, the team helps the business meet regulatory obligations while delivering positive customer outcomes. You will join a collaborative and knowledgeable team that plays a vital role in protecting customers, supporting colleagues, and strengthening the bank's control environment.
This is a hybrid role, based primarily in Belfast or London. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
