What is the opportunity?

As Senior API Solution Architect, you will be accountable for delivering effective solution designs within the Bank's API platform, taking the lead on the delivery from an API design perspective.

You will get the chance to design end-to-end API solutions to meet business needs within the context of a broader solution implementation. The successful candidate will contribute to overall solution planning, providing input into the factory estimation process as well as highlighting technical risks, issues and assumptions.

In this role, you will:

• Review design artefacts from other API solution architects within the factory team
• Define and derive standard methodologies in the API space, adopting industry standard methodologies and highlighting areas within the API factory that require remediation
• Produce required design artefacts, independently or as part of a team
• Present to the Bank's Architecture Review Board when necessary and engage with key partners in the enterprise architect function and across the business
• Ensure solutions align with strategic architecture principles and direction

You are able to take a lead role and take ownership of complex integration deliveries. The strongest candidates will have a continuous improvement and innovative attitude.

A proven track record as solution architect in designing solutions for large-scale API integration projects and programmes working in complex, multi-vendor change delivery organisations. You will stand out for this position if you have a deep knowledge and experience in REST API design.

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role;

• Knowledge of the Mulesoft Anypoint Platform or similar API management platforms
• Mulesoft certification
• Experience in creation of Swagger or RAML definitions

Essential Qualifications

• 3rd level degree in similar subject area or equivalent experience

Our API Factory provides critical API integration and engineering services to support the Bank's change programme of initiatives. The factory operates a 'one team' culture delivering through multi-functional squads.

Solution architects operate as a shared service provider to the delivery squads in developing solution plans and designing the end-to-end API integration solutions.
