What is the opportunity?

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across Group Finance, UK Treasury and UK Risk to deliver the regulatory reporting requirements for the UK. The role holder will gain an overall understanding of the UK business and develop knowledge of the UK regulatory reporting regime set by BOE, PRA and FCA.

Working at Bank of Ireland doesn't have to mean working in an office to have an impact. Our commitment to enabling colleagues to thrive means that depending on role type you can have choice and flexibility in where you work and live, subject to your role, customer needs and our requirements. We have a hybrid working model, with home, agile hub and office based options available. We will always list a primary location which can be where you go for in person collaboration, and a location where you can best perform your role.

Please note you must live in the jurisdiction for the business to which you are contracted. This job can be done anywhere in the UK with the primary office location as Belfast to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide a robust review and challenge process over certain of the outsourced regulatory reporting deliverables for the UK, thereby ensuring accurate, timely and complete delivery of reporting to the UK Regulatory bodies (PRA, FCA and BOE);
  • Compliance with NI Note issue rules for accurate and timely daily reporting;
  • Provision of daily balance sheet MI to support liquidity and capital management;
  • Support the financial reporting for NIIB Group Ltd;
  • Support ad-hoc projects and requests in support of team goals and the UK CFO strategic priorities.

What will make you stand out?

Strong organisational skills with the ability lead a range of contending priorities and tight delivery timelines;

Ability to work both independently on own initiative and within a collaborative team environment;

Flexible team member; sharing knowledge and proactively supporting continuous improvement to deliver process efficiencies, while also ensuring the delivery of changes arising;

Strong interpretative and analytical skills with the ability to constructively challenge both outputs and processes;

Ability to build strong relationships both within the immediate team and wider Finance and UK teams.

Essential Qualifications

Qualified Accountant or Part-Qualified Accountant working towards qualification; with relevant finance experience.

More about the team
