What is the opportunity?

This role is offered on a 12 month secondment basis.

The Risk & Compliance Analyst position affords a high level of exposure to a wide variety of stakeholders from different business units across the Group and will provide an ideal platform to develop stakeholder relationships.

You will take a role in supporting business performance through carrying out testing of key business processes controls that forms a key part of the Bank of Ireland's Internal Financial Controls framework.

In this role, you will:

  • Review and test Business Process, Entity level and End User Computing controls throughout the Group.

  • Provide support in relation to management of MOET (Management Operating Effectiveness Testing) test schedule, to include choosing samples, creating test scripts and monitoring of progress of same.

  • Provide support to control owners to implement best practice measures and liaise with Group Internal Audit.

  • Provide MI updates to management on weekly/monthly basis including status of testing, number of ineffective controls.

  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for process improvement

  • Ability to interpret and understand financial and business information.

  • Ability to deliver and achieve results within demanding timeframes.

  • Understanding of Risk Management principles and compliance requirements.

  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiply tasks simultaneously.

Essential qualifications

Part-qualified accountant with previous business experience appropriate to this role would be an advantage. In addition, a background in a risk and controls environment while not a pre-requisite would be considered positively.

The primary objectives of the Reporting Controls Team are to plan, direct and guide the Financial Reporting Controls agenda to ensure the Group achieves its reporting objectives. We support the embedding of a successful reporting controls culture group-wide.
