What is the opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join the Wealth & Insurance Finance team as a Financial Control Manager, where you will bring your accounting expertise and life assurance knowledge to a collaborative environment. You will work closely with Operations and Actuarial colleagues to strengthen financial governance, improve reporting quality, and maintain a strong control framework. This role offers exposure to key financial processes and the chance to make a meaningful impact while developing your experience in a supportive team.

Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead month-end and quarterly valuation processes, ensuring reconciliations are completed, reviewed in line with Internal Financial Control (IFC) guidelines, and issues are clearly communicated
  • Oversee daily financial activities including payments, premium collections and Bank of Ireland Life (BOL) processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Partner with Financial Reporting and Actuarial teams to plan and deliver quarterly valuations, resolving queries from stakeholders and external auditors
  • Identify and address financial or system issues, working with Business Operations to improve processes and strengthen the control environment
  • Support and develop a team, fostering a positive culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivery of team objectives

You are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and can communicate clearly to resolve queries and improve processes. Your attention to detail, combined with the ability to see the bigger picture, helps you maintain accuracy while driving improvements.

Experience with the following will help you to stand out but is not required to apply for this role:

  • Knowledge of life assurance products, processes, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working in a fast-paced financial control environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting systems and processes, with proven analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and high standards

More about the team

The Financial Reconciliation and Control team sits within the Financial Reporting and Control function in Wealth & Insurance. The team is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of over €3.8 billion of customer premiums and claims each year.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily at Baggot Plaza, Dublin. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
