What is the opportunity?

In Advanced Analytics, you will work as part of a dynamic and high-reaching team, and be a driving force behind digital transformation at Ireland's leading financial institution. You will gain significant exposure to develop complex, advanced data science solutions end to end.

You will improve the use of applied statistics and supervised/unsupervised machine learning techniques on structured and unstructured datasets. This work involves extracting value from numerous, disparate, complex data sources to solve foundational business problems for our customers.

In this role, you will:

  • Advanced analytics & machine learning - Deliver customer insights and build end to end ML pipelines supported by robust, production ready data engineering.
  • Cloud based data platforms - Migrate and maintain data science workloads in the cloud, ensuring governance, compliance and scalable data features.
  • Cross bank collaboration & partner engagement - Work with teams and senior leaders across Retail, Corporate and Marketing to find opportunities, eliminate silos and drive adoption of enterprise data platforms.
  • Data storytelling & culture building - Build impactful visualisations, promote analytics awareness and play a role in encouraging an agile, innovative, data-driven culture.

What will make you stand out?

  • Demonstrated experience in data science with strong capabilities in supervised, unsupervised, and ensemble techniques including XGBoost and Decision Trees.
  • Knowledge extends to MLOps, model monitoring, explainability, and deriving insights from organized and raw data.
  • Skilled in Python, SQL and major ML libraries such as Pandas, scikit learn and PySpark.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing complex solutions using premier data science tools such as Cloudera AI, AWS or similar.
  • Analytical judgement & reliable delivery - Strong interpretative skills, confident independent judgement, and a proven track record of meeting demanding targets and leading opposing deadlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in Financial Services Data Analytics & Senior Partner Management.
  • Knowledge of developing AI/ML pipelines and harnessing techniques such as clustering, classification, deep learning and/or stochastic modelling.
  • Knowledge of LLMs, Gen. AI & agentic workflows.

Essential qualifications

Third Level qualification, in mathematics, statistics, finance, IT, or another field including a significant numerical element

More about the team

Reporting to the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO), the Advanced Analytics team is responsible for the development and execution of the Bank's data analytics strategy.

The role holder will deliver value-prioritised analytics & AI projects that are closely aligned to the Groups strategic ambition on behalf of internal customers; and contribute to identifying appropriate framework tools and standards to enable Bank of Ireland to become a data driven organisation at all levels of the company.

The role is hybrid and can be performed anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location in Baggot Plaza. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration with exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
