What is the opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team that covers investigations across the breadth of Bank of Ireland Group. You will be working in a highly-motivated and agile team, with exposure to Senior Management and Executives across the Bank.

You will lead the strategic delivery of the SUI programme, ensuring high-quality investigations, regulatory compliance, and a culture of openness and accountability.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the management of complex and highly-sensitive investigations, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with policy and legal standards.
  • Provide strategic feedback into the design and continuous improvement of the Bank's Speak Up framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as a key liaison with the business and internal audit on Speak Up-related matters.
  • Ensure robust governance and reporting of Speak Up activity to Senior Committees and Boards.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to embed a strong Speak Up culture and support in addressing root causes of misconduct.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, high performance and wellbeing, leading by example to increase enterprise-wide collaboration and inclusion.

What will make you stand out?

  • Expertise in leading and supervising sensitive and enterprise-level investigations with significant reputational or regulatory impact at a Senior Management level.
  • In-depth knowledge of whistleblowing frameworks, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices in investigations (ideally for both Republic of Ireland and UK).
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic development and thinking and the ability to identify systemic issues, trends, and root causes from investigation outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and motivational skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and cultural change.
  • Lead in an agile way at all times, focusing on continuous improvement and delivering the highest 'insight' value, being flexible with approaches and strategies as needed.
  • Ability to design and implement policies, procedures, and training to enhance speak-up and investigation capability.
  • High level of integrity, resilience, and sound judgement in navigating complex ethical and operational challenges.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management and the role of investigations in strengthening internal controls.
