What is the opportunity?

The UK FC team is responsible for successful delivery of the monthly GL close, financial control and reporting for the UK business. Therefore the role will give an individual a variety of experience working as a financial accountant in a vibrant and growing environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Financial Controller in ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger for your business unit and the delivery of high quality financial and management reporting.
  • Support preparation of Statutory and Finrep disclosure notes on a quarterly basis ensuring that underlying processes and controls have been completed in accordance with best practice
  • Support preparation of Balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation, ensuring each individual Balance sheet account is substantiated with appropriate back up and reconciling items have been resolved in a timely manner
  • Prepare journals on a monthly basis ensuring the journals are accurate and complete with appropriate back up provided to allow efficient review.
  • Supporting the reporting requirements for the Group and UK plc.
  • Support the team in any adhoc requirements as they arise

What will make you stand out?

A self-starter with the ability to plan, co-ordinate and deliver results in a reliable manner.

Demonstrated experience of delivery to tight reporting deadlines and leading opposing priorities.

Excellent communication skills.

Hold, or are currently working towards, a recognised accounting qualification or an equivalent.

Experience in a Financial Control or similar role

More about the team

This role is within the UK Financial Controle Division, a team of about 15 people who support the Group Financial Controller and UK CFO.

The purpose of the UK Financial Control team is to complete the month end close and deliver MI to the UK Board and business. We must ensure the balance sheet is reconciled and substantiated and presented in line with accounting standards. In addition, we are responsible for statutory and regulatory reporting and coordinating the UK statutory audit process.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily at the office. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
