What is the opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within a Financial Control team which is responsible for business transactions within the Corporate Banking Division of the Bank. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with the Commercial Partner and interact with other stakeholders across Group Finance and the Corporate Banking division on a regular basis.

This role is offered on a 12-month contract basis.

In this role you will:

  • Assist with the preparation of the Corporate subsidiary statutory reporting and with the audit requirements whilst maintaining strong relationships with Group Statutory Reporting, Group tax, Group Secretaries Office and the external auditor.

  • Be responsible for the Corporate foreign branches reporting, including collaborating closely with branch staff and external service providers.

  • Assist with preparation of the tax provisions and VAT returns process.

  • Have responsibility for the reporting of Corporate Banking leases.

  • Be responsible for parking journals at month end and balance sheet reconciliation.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including the commercial partnering team, Group Loans Administration team and external service providers team to ensure an optimum working relationship is maintained.

  • Drive continual operational improvement and efficiencies.

  • Provide financial and analytical support as required by ongoing business requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation of Statutory and FinRep information in line with BOI Group governance procedures.

What will make you stand out?

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong technical knowledge in areas of IFRS9 and IFRS 16.

  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated experience of delivery to .prescribed reporting timelines

  • Proven capacity to meet ambitious targets.

  • Highly constructive contributor to teams and groups.

  • Excellent commercial skills and strong appetite to understand the business.

Essential Qualifications

Completed or working towards a recognised accountancy qualification.

Financial Control acts as a principal point of contact between the Finance Commercial Partner and Finance Services, takes lead responsibility in ensuring that the control environment around accounting processes is robust and that reporting delivery is timely and to high standards of accuracy.

This role is specifically in relation to Corporate Banking. The Corporate Banking Financial Control team is responsible for the controlling and reporting on the Corporate Banking Division's financial position and performance. The outputs of the team are included in externally published information e.g. annual accounts, and for inclusion in financial information to internal stakeholders.
