What is the opportunity?

Join Bank of Ireland's Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) as a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect, where you'll play a key role in delivering our AI Platform roadmap and wider digital transformation.

In this role, you'll design secure, reliable and scalable cloud solutions across our native cloud platforms. You'll work closely with our AI Centre of Excellence, technology partners and delivery teams, helping to shape how cloud services are used safely and effectively across the Bank.

In this role, you will:

  • Design cloud infrastructure and platform solutions that meet business needs while aligning with Bank policies and security standards.
  • Provide practical guidance on cloud adoption, supporting teams and partners with solution design and implementation.
  • Find opportunities to optimise cost, performance and innovation across our public cloud platforms.
  • Communicate architectural designs clearly to both technical and non-technical partners, embedding security by design.
  • Create reusable patterns and guardrails to accelerate safe cloud adoption and support the onboarding of new services related to AI.

What will make you stand out?

You bring a strong understanding of cloud native architecture and enjoy solving complex problems in a practical, collaborative way.

You are comfortable working with public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, and have hands-on experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Python is also a differential.

You value clear documentation and can explain technical concepts in a way that works for different audiences. Strong relationship building skills help you work effectively across teams and with partners.

Experience with the following will help you stand out but is not required to apply for this role:

  • Experience of both AWS and Azure environments
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) services, such as AWS Bedrock and Agent Core
  • Experience working in regulated or financial services environments
  • Familiarity with DevOps and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices
