What is the opportunity?

We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Security Specialist role, within the Information Security and Resilience Engagement Team!

You will be responsible for supporting key stakeholders, including Business Units (BU), the Be Secure Champion network and Group colleagues through engagement activities to promote security awareness and influence secure behaviours. The role is key in encouraging a proactive security approach among colleagues, building resilience and driving a secure culture to help reduce human cyber risk across the Group.

In this role, you will:

  • Champion the team's cyber engagement agenda through initiatives developed to influence colleague behaviours and attitudes. Help to make information security easy to understand, enabling colleagues to work in a secure and responsible way.
  • Plan and deliver engagement activities (e.g. presentations, webinars, quizzes) on Information Security topics, thinking creatively to deliver interactive, motivational and collaborative sessions. These sessions will be delivered through remote, hybrid and in-person formats.
  • Support other engagement initiatives, including the Be Secure Champion Network, Cyber Security Awareness Month, Women in Cyber and People Services Group Induction activity.
  • Build internal partner relationships, socialising the security agenda Group wide and across all levels.
  • Support business areas with the management of cyber security related issues and develop joint understanding of the information security risks to their business.
  • Maintain an awareness of security news/emerging threats and developments in industry.
  • Support the business on the remediation options for audit or regulatory findings.

What will make you stand out?

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for connecting with people and a clear willingness to develop your expertise in cyber security tools and concepts. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain security concepts and translate into plain, accessible language for colleagues at every level. With experience in business advisory and advocacy, you will be comfortable encouraging others, and influencing outcomes.

You balance creative thinking with logical problem solving and can shift between the two with ease. Your organised approach, sharp attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks help you deliver consistently high quality work. Whether working independently or collaborating as part of a team, you contribute positively to shared goals.

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not vital in order to apply for this role;

  • Awareness of fundamental cyber security threats and information security concepts
  • Experience working with Information Security, Risk, Assurance, or Data would be an advantage.
