What is the opportunity?

The Skills Implementation Lead is responsible for translating the Product Owner competency framework and development roadmap into tailored, tribe-specific implementation plans!

This role works closely with Tribe Leads, Agile Coaches, and HR partners to ensure the effective rollout and adoption of Product Owner development initiatives that reflect the unique needs, maturity levels, and strategic priorities of each tribe.

In this role, you will:

Tribe Engagement & Customisation

  • Partner with Tribe Leads and delivery teams to understand their operating models, challenges, and development needs.
  • Co-design tailored implementation plans that align with the overarching Product Owner growth strategy while reflecting tribe-specific contexts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Product Owner development within each tribe.

Implementation Planning & Execution

  • Coordinate the rollout of development initiatives including training, mentoring, assessments, and capability uplift programs.
  • Ensure alignment with the Competency & Development Lead and Product Practice Lead to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Supervise progress and adapt implementation plans based on feedback and evolving tribe needs.

Enablement & Support

  • Provide hands-on support to Product Owners and Tribe Leads during implementation phases.
  • Facilitate workshops, onboarding sessions, and mentor interventions to embed development practices.
  • Identify and raise systemic barriers to adoption and propose solutions.

Feedback & Continuous Improvement

  • Capture feedback from tribes to inform the evolution of the competency framework and development roadmap.
  • Share insights and lessons learned across the CoE to foster cross-tribe learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to the refinement of tools, templates, and guidance materials based on real-world application.

What will make you stand out?

  • Strong experience in Product Ownership, Agile delivery, or capability development within large organisations.
  • Shown ability to lead partner relationships and tailor solutions to diverse team environments.
  • Experience in implementing learning and development programs at scale.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and change leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic alignment with localised flexibility.

Within Bank of Ireland we are transforming our business to meet the continuing evolving needs of our customers. Aligning to Agile ways of working and putting the customer at the heart of what we do, we are looking for someone to lead on Product Practice and Interlocking across tribes and squads.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location in Baggot Plaza, Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration -exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
