What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Category Manager, you'll play a crucial role in delivering commercial value across defined sub?'categories within Bank of Ireland's wider category portfolio. Working closely with the Head of Category and business collaborators, you'll develop sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and support the Bank's transformation priorities. This role offers the opportunity to influence decision?'making, optimize third?'party spend and build resilient, well?'governed supply chains in a highly regulated environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development and delivery of sub?'category strategies aligned to Group priorities, regulatory requirements, and demand forecasts.
  • Lead end?'to?'end sourcing activity, including market analysis, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Manage supplier performance across assigned sub?'categories, driving service improvements, commercial optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • Work with Risk, Legal, Information Security, and Data Protection teams to ensure sourcing activity is compliant, robust, and well?'governed.
  • Contribute to procurement governance, reporting, and continuous improvement, supporting audit, regulatory, and transformation initiatives.

What will help you stand out?

You bring strong commercial judgment and experience working in procurement or category management within a complex or regulated organization. You are comfortable leading sourcing activity, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to deliver value and manage risk. You build positive relationships with collaborators and collaborate effectively across functions to achieve shared outcomes. Your analytical approach helps you turn market insight and data into clear recommendations that support better decision?'making. You are organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast?'paced environment.

Having experience with the following can help you stand out but is not required to apply for this role:

  • Supporting transformation, digitization, or operational improvement programs.
  • Working with innovative supplier models, pilots, or proof?'of?'concept initiatives.
  • A professional procurement qualification such as CIPS.

Essential qualifications

  • Strong experience in procurement, category management, commercial management, or supply chain within a regulated or complex organization.

More about the team

Group Procurement & Partner Management is a Group-wide function responsible for enabling smart, strategic, and well-governed purchasing decisions across Bank of Ireland. The team delivers capabilities including Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supplier Risk and Governance, and Procurement Transformation. As part of Enterprise Services, the team works closely with colleagues across the Group to improve value from third-party spend, build stronger supplier relationships, and protect the organization from supplier-related risks.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily at Baggot Plaza, Dublin. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in?'person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to meet the needs of the role and team.
